"Mobile Clinic" Brings Health Services Aboard the Yangtze
River Delta Loop High-Speed Train
"Doctor, my shoulder often feels sore." On October 19, aboard the G8388/8389 Yangtze River Delta Loop high-speed train, an elderly passenger sought medical advice at the on-board "mobile clinic." Dr. Hua Xuyun, Director of Orthopaedics at Shuguang Hospital affiliated with Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, patiently conducted the consultation and explained key tips for daily joint care.
Shortly after the train departed, staff members announced details of the free medical consultation via broadcast, and passengers soon began lining up in an orderly fashion to seek advice and examinations. "What should I eat if I have pulmonary nodules?" "How can I quickly relieve itching from urticaria?" Passengers raised various health questions to specialists from different departments, who responded with careful diagnosis and patient explanations. Train attendants acted as "health assistants," helping maintain order and record passenger information.
The event served more than 1,000 passengers and distributed over 100 health brochures. Yu Fei, Deputy Party Secretary of Shanghai Tenth People's Hospital, remarked at the scene, "When top-tier hospital specialists step out of their clinics to provide zero-distance services for passengers on the train, it fully demonstrates the social commitment of medical professionals. It also represents an innovative service model and a vivid example of practice."
