The railway authority has introduced specialized carriages for automobile transport, with two decks in each carriage capable of carrying 8-14 cars. Every day, dedicated "car attendants" drive the vehicles into the carriages and secure them with protective bumpers, wheel stoppers and fastening straps. "Our customized carriages are fully enclosed, with no need for midway transfers or unloading, which protects vehicles from sun exposure and rain," said Yang Dawei, Deputy Director of the International Container Centre Station of CR-Harbin.
